Founding

Casa Hogar Rio Bravo was founded in 1993 by Ray and Leah Hansen. From its beginning, the Home took in children who had been abandoned, neglected, or abused. The Home began with one house and quickly grew to three homes within five years.

Today

Rio Bravo has four Homes that each can house up to 15 children at a time. The houses are run “family style” with a mom and dad living in the house and caring for the children. Each home is a self-contained unit that runs, as much as possible, like a normal household. Houseparents prepare the meals, help with homework and do laundry for their children along with the things families do to make their house a home. They instill Christian values, discipline, and love in a positive environment.
